John Sammarco

John is committed to helping groups make better decisions. He has over 35 years of experience leading, managing, and consulting to top public and private sector organizations such as Lockheed Martin Corporation, Oracle Corporation, America Online, Accenture LLP, Bank of America, Fannie Mae, GMAC Financial Services, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

He founded Definitive Business Solutions in 2003, which provides world-class group decision-making solutions. In 2016, he pioneered development of Definitive Pro Business Analytics and Definitive Choice to help organizations build consensus and make complex multi-criteria decisions. He has been awarded three U.S. patents in the field of group decision-making.

In the evenings, John serves as an adjunct professor for the Department of Decision, Operations and Information Technologies (DOIT) within the Robert H. Smith School of Business, where he teaches consulting analytics and system analysis and design. He also provides volunteer support to the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Washington D.C. chapter, where he has been a certified project management professional (PMP) since 2001. John has a Master of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Denver, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Mathematics from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y.
