John is committed to helping groups make better decisions. He has over t35 years of experience leading, managing, and consulting to top public and private sector organizations such as Lockheed Martin Corporation, Oracle Corporation, America Online, Accenture LLP, Bank of America, Fannie Mae, GMAC Financial Services, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

He founded Definitive Business Solutions in 2003, which provides world-class group decision-making solutions. In 2016, he pioneered development of Definitive Pro Business Analytics and Definitive Choice to help organizations build consensus and make complex multi-criteria decisions. He has been awarded three U.S. patents in the field of group decision-making.

In the evenings, John serves as an adjunct professor for the Department of Decision, Operations and Information Technologies (DOIT) within the Robert H. Smith School of Business, where he teaches consulting analytics and system analysis and design. He also provides volunteer support to the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Washington D.C. chapter, where he has been a certified project management professional (PMP) since 2001. John has a Master of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Denver, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Mathematics from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y.

Greg has over 25 years of experience in information technology. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Greg served seven years as a Nuclear Qualified Submarine officer. After leaving the Navy he worked for Kaiser Permanente where he spearheaded their first intranet applications. He then founded Bowwave Technology which he owned and operated for 20 years. Greg has designed, developed and managed enterprise wide applications as well as unique intranet / internet solutions. He has also architected cloud-based and on-premise systems, and has led development teams through the entire software development lifecycle.

Since 2016, Greg has architected, designed, and developed Definitive Pro and Definitive Choice decision support systems, and has supported delivery of engagements involving technology decisions,

In addition to a bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, Greg also has an MBA and a Master’s in Information Technology from the University of Maryland.

Jeffrey Hulett

Jeff is a recognized business partner, influencer, and strategic planner in the financial services arena. He has more than 25 years of helping organizations successfully manage multiple business channels while growing revenues and managing risk. Jeff’s experience includes new business line development, operational leadership, decision systems design and implementation, and risk management. His client‘s and former employers include large to mid-size banks, regulators, governments entities, and fintech oriented non-bank organizations. Jeff’s collaborative approach brings core business functions to a shared vision and maximizes customer experience, and financial results.

Jeff’s passion includes helping all people make great life decisions. He is a board member or executive director of multiple education oriented non-profit organizations. He is a regular writer and contributor on personal finance related topics. Jeff is on the board of advisors for James Madison University (JMU), where he is a regular guest lecturer on decision science and data science related topics. Jeff’s education includes a B.A. degree from JMU and an advanced degree in finance, mathematics, and economics from the Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Business.

John (JP) Padgett

JP is a multi-talented management consultant, specializing in communications and leadership. He draws from skills in establishing and leading PMOs, training/coaching, management consulting, and project and program management. He has been a trusted consultant to executives at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Coca Cola, and the North Carolina Department of Commerce. At NC Commerce, he was an advisor to the Secretary of Commerce, which included engaging executive staff on organizational strategy, communications, and project management. In this role, he helped to establish a Project Management Office to increase project performance. More recently, JP was brought in as a consultant to establish a PMO to govern a portfolio of IT projects for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This work included assessing current project management capabilities, building an implementation plan, and overseeing the deployment of the PMO and its key activities.

Other career highlights for JP include management positions at Lockheed Martin and Oracle, where he led teams of project managers and information technology consultants. In these roles, he built and led high-performing teams, managed all aspects of the business unit (sales, contracts, P&L, team development). At Oracle, JP served as a Practice Director for the Mountain/Southwest region, based out of Denver, Colorado.

As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Scrum Master (CSM), JP has expertise in various project management methodologies, to include agile development. He has exceptional client relationship skills and enjoys mentoring less-experienced project managers as they pursue careers in the field.
